The purpose of the course:
This course is intended for those who are interested in the application of information technology in medicine and specialize in PACS systems, as well as for healthcare professionals, administrators and IT specialists working in the medical industry and wishing to deepen their knowledge and skills in this field.

Course structure and content:

Module 1: Fundamentals of IT in medicine

1.1. Introduction to medical informatics and the role of information technology in medicine. 1.2. Overview of the main components of the PACS system. 1.3. Laws and regulations governing the use of IT in medicine and the processing of medical data.

 

Module 2: Fundamentals of PACS Systems

2.1. Architecture and components of the PACS system. 2.2. Integration of PACS with medical devices (scanners, REG, RCGs, etc.). 2.3. Data protection in PACS systems: ensuring the security and confidentiality of medical images and data.

 

Module 3: MedDream Software for viewing and analyzing medical images

3.1. Introduction to MedDream and its key characteristics. 3.2. Main features of MedDream: viewing, analyzing, archiving and sharing medical images. 3.3. The user interface and the configuration of MedDream for the specific needs of medical practice.

 

Module 4: Working with medical images

4.1. Medical image formats (DICOM, JPEG, etc.) and their features. 4.2. Capture and processing of medical images. 4.3. Processing and analysis of data obtained from medical images.

 

Module 5: Integration and administration of the PACS system

5.1. Integration of PACS with the Medical Information System (MIS) and electronic medical record (EHR). 5.2. Administration and maintenance of PACS. 5.3. Monitoring and optimization of system performance.

 

Module 6: Safety and compliance with standards

6.1. Data protection in the PACS system: encryption, authentication and auditing. 6.2. Compliance with standards and regulations in the field of medical informatics and PACS. 6.3. The role of IT in ensuring patient safety and preventing errors in medicine.

 

Module 7: Practical skills and projects

7.1. Practical exercises on working with MedDream and PACS systems. 7.2. Development and implementation of projects related to IT in medicine and PACS.

 

Module 8: Trends and the future of IT in medicine

8.1. Current trends and innovations in the field of medical informatics and PACS. 8.2. Research directions and prospects for the development of IT in medicine.

Final exam or project

Students can complete the course by passing an exam or submitting a project demonstrating their knowledge and skills in the field of IT in medicine and PACS systems.

According to the results of the training, a certificate of IARC is issued.
